The General Manager of a forging plant who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plant’s operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning:

Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company goals. Set production and operational targets to meet customer demands and profitability objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Operations Management:

Oversee daily plant operations, including procurement, production, maintenance, and quality control. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards. Monitor production schedules, equipment performance, and resource utilization.

Financial & Budgetary Control:

Manage budgets, cost control measures, and financial forecasting. Optimize production costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines. Ensure profitability by controlling waste, downtime, and inventory levels.

Quality & Process Improvement:

Implement and maintain high-quality manufacturing standards (ISO). Drive process improvements through lean manufacturing and automation. Ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality defects.

Team Management & Workforce Development:

Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled workforce, including department heads and shop-floor employees. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability. Ensure training programs for skill enhancement and succession planning.

Customer & Supplier Relations:

Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring on-time delivery and quality assurance. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials and cost-effective procurement. Address customer complaints and drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:

Ensure workplace safety by implementing health and safety programs. Comply with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives. Promote a culture of zero accidents and risk mitigation.

Technology & Innovation:

Stay updated with the latest forging technologies and industry trends. Implement new technologies and automation to enhance productivity. Drive innovation in product development and manufacturing processes.

Experience: 6-8 Years in relevant field with minimum 2 years of experience as Manager position.
